Happily married Connie shares the trauma of fertility treatment with Pippa, but underestimates the impact being unable to conceive will have on her and her marriage. As their lives collide in a way they could never have predicted, will any of them get to see their hopes realised? …INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHORQ. What makes The Hopeful Years series special?A. Beneath the Apple Blossom, the first book in the series is told from the point of view of four women all struggling with something – infertility, family life or motherhood (or indeed not wanting to be pregnant or have a baby). The subsequent books will continue each woman’s story after Beneath the Apple Blossom ends, either focusing on the aftermath of infertility or the different struggle of parenthood and children. It’s a book that many women will be able to relate to one way or another. Q. Can you sum up Beneath the Apple Blossom and why readers should give it a try?A. It’s an emotional read about hope and loss, friendship and betrayal, that is rooted in reality – the emotions are true to life and ones that so many women experience throughout their lives. It’s not an easy read and the book deals with serious subjects such as infertility, IVF, pregnancy and miscarriage, yet it’s also about hope, friendship, sisterhood, family life and motherhood. As author Tracey Rogers summed up in her review of the book: “What I love about this story is that it is very real. Life isn’t all about living happily ever after and this book stays achingly true to that. There’s plenty of conflict and an unexpected twist to make you emotionally invested. These four women become connected in many ways. Some tragic, some hopeful and some very unexpected. With relationships fracturing, their journeys become a tangled web as they fight for what they need. Beautiful and poignant!”Q. Have you written any other women’s fiction books? A. Yes, my debut novel, The Butterfly Storm and the first in The Butterfly Storm series is a love story set in Greece and north Norfolk in the UK. I’m currently working on a sequel to it as well as the second book in The Hopeful Years series.
