One a Day – Self-Identity and Confidence in Christ
Today’s Free Kindle eBook: One a Day – Self-Identity and Confidence in Christ
As Christian women, our identities need to be in Christ alone. “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose – I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace]” (Philippians 4:13). It is essential to your heart, mind, and spirit to connect with Christ daily. It is vital to your spiritual growth to be in the Word of God. It is fundamental to your walk in spreading the Gospel, to be light in a very dark world. If we have no idea who we are in Christ, then our emotions, our self worth, our hearts, and our minds crumble at the slightest perceived wrong. The One a Day series is a collection of Bible characters, mostly women, who have encouraged and touched my life in amazing ways. This devotion will focus on their testimonies and trials, which inspire me to strive higher and overcome any obstacles in my life. For thirty days, I want to stir the hearts of Christians with challenges they may face by using my own testimony and God’s Word. It has been a blessing writing and praising God for all He has done in my life and continues to do. I share my struggles and pain, openly and honestly. I believe God moves in our lives uniquely and individually. I love hearing testimonies of the Lord’s plan in personal lives, which heartens my own. The Apostle Paul said to mutually encourage one another, “For I long to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift, to strengthen and establish you; that is, that we may be mutually encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” (Romans 1:11-12). My prayer is this series touches and opens the heart of anyone who reads these words. May the Lord be magnified and praised, for He has done a good work!
